Riverside Wine Competition names Reustle as Top Terroir

Riverside International Wine Competition awarded Reustle-Prayer Rock Vineyards their “Terroir Award” as the winery that displays the best regional character in its wines. Paving the way for this award was Reustle-Prayer Rock Vineyards 2013 Syrah, capturing “Best of Class” and “Chairman’s Award” for a “Unanimous Gold” in the Syrah category. In all, ten wines from Reustle-Prayer Rock Vineyards were awarded medals. When asked about the 2015 Riverside Competition results Stephen Reustle, Owner/Winemaker stated it was rewarding to have ten diverse wines win medals at such a prestigious competition, and he was excited to win one of Riverside’s Top Trophies. He stated, “It is an honor to be presented with the ‘Terroir Award’. Being recognized for displaying the best regional characteristics in our wine validates our hard work and efforts in the vineyards to produce numerous world-class wines across the breadth of varietals. I am sincerely grateful to the Judges and to Riverside International Wine Competition Chairman Dan Berger.” About Reustle’s 2013 Syrah, Wine Judge Gary Eberle commented, “Blueberries and meat, hickory, big, structured, intense syrah. Integrated tannins.” Following their “Best of Class” – Gold Medal winning 2013 Syrah, Reustle-Prayer Rock Vineyards captured Silver Medals for their 2013 Grüner Veltliner, 2014 Sauvignon Blanc, 2014 Viognier, 2013 Pinot Noir Reserve, 2013 Tempranillo Reserve, 2013 Syrah Reserve, and 2013 Grenache. Rounding out the competition with Bronze Medals were Reustle’s 2013 Gloria’s Syrah and 2013 Côt et Merlau. So far this year Reustle-Prayer Rock Vineyards has earned 55 Awards in 5 major wine competitions, including the “Terroir Award”, “Best of Class” honors, and numerous medals. Reustle contributes this consistency in competition to years of hard work and attention to detail from vine to bottle.
