Greatest of the Grape
Oregon’s oldest wine celebration honors more than five decades of winemaking history in the Umpqua Valley. Founded in 1970, this event set out to celebrate locally produced wines and champion wine grape growing as a viable agricultural industry in Oregon. What began as a small educational gathering has evolved into a cherished annual tradition that reflects the growth, innovation, and community spirit of our region.

Venture to the valley and join us on February 5th to 7th for the Greatest of the Grape, a weekend-long celebration of Umpqua Valley wine.
This year’s event will feature a new VIP Experience, the return of the People’s Choice Awards, thoughtfully curated culinary pairings, local art, and the beloved Wheel of Wine and Sunday Special. You won’t want to miss it!
The VIP Experience, limited to 40 guests, takes place on Friday, February 5th, at Richwine Vineyards. Featuring our four winning winemakers and Chef Andreas Pias, this exclusive formal winemakers dinner puts a spotlight on a chef-driven, three-course, farm-to-table menu thoughtfully paired with the four wine entries selected by the Greatest of the Grape panel of professional judges.
Chef Andreas Pias leverages a storied career in culinary arts, food science and dietetics to highlight the very best of the Umpqua Basin and greater Oregon. He combines old and new world techniques to bring refined, from-scratch cooking to your table. His relationships with farmers, ranchers and creators are showcased to bring you the best of the Pacific Northwest by way of the Mediterranean. Chef Andreas takes great pride in his Greek ancestry and in embodying the hospitality experience Greeks are known for. (He and his team are looking forward to welcoming you to TIMBRE and Tap, early summer 2027!)

The Awards Gala on February 6th, Saturday, will be held at the Umpqua Grand Ballroom at Seven Feathers Casino Resort.
Taste ~40 select wines from ~20 wineries poured for you by our winemakers and winegrowers. Participate in voting for the People’s Choice Awards. Enjoy delicious hors d’oeuvres, thoughfully created by Seven Feathers’ Executive Chef Jacob Johnson and Chef Lucas Schrock to pair with the evening’s wine list.
Enjoy an art-infused silent auction, elegant live music by Anela Lauren, and the highly anticipated Wheel of Wine benefiting CASA (Children’s Advocacy) of Douglas County, OR.
New this year: Bottles of wine to take home will be available for purchase.
